Kids Share: Tibetan and Vermont Children's Narratives
Presentation and Social

3pm-5pm at Union Elementary, Montpelier Vermont
We would like to share our mission with you! In-school writing and art workshops can provide children with an experience that isn't offered anywhere but through Portraits for Charity. This fundraiser will support two full year workshops in Vermont and one in India, which will culminate with our second Kid's Share book in late spring 2010.
Portraits for Charity's Sound Slides by Roger Crowley will be shared and A PowerPoint presentation by Nancy Corliss "Walking in Nancy's Shoes". The artwork and writing from Union & Thatcher Brook Elementary and Bylakuppe's Tibetan Children's Village will be on display. Kristina & childrens' co-creation of each classrooms mascot will be on display as well.
Please join us for this exciting day of sharing! Bring the kids - the playground will be nearby if the weather is nice. Pizza and Ice Cream will be available for a small donation. Entertainment has been generously donated by Steve Lotspeich, well known and loved folk guitar and banjo player and singer from Waterbury. We'll have a raffle and face painting too! There will be a table displaying and selling lovely handmade items from India, Nepal and Thailand - fair wages paid to all artisans.
Come see our first book, Kids Share: Tibetan and Vermont Children's Narratives and let us introduce you to some of the students who wrote this book. Some will be reading excerpts directly from this lovely creative venture. See below for a sneak peek at this Kid's Share book.
